Work package 1: Quantum emulation of geometrically frustrated quantum spin systems
Leader: Dr. Juliette Simonet (Universitaet Hamburg)This work package aims at realizing and characterizing model Hamiltonians of geometrically frustrated quantum magnetism with atom-otpical quantum simulators. Specifically, the objectives of this work package are:
1. Quantum emulation of frustrated quantum XY and XXZ models with nearest-neighbour interactions in two-dimensional (2D) square and triangular lattice geometries.
2. Quantum emulation of fully-frustrated Ising and quantum dimer models with short-range interactions in corner-sharing and bond-sharing ladders.
3. Study of the quantum phase diagrams of these models.
