Work package 3: Common challenges and methods: theory, assessment, comparison, and integration of quantum simulators
Leader: Dr. Julia Stasinska (ICFO Barcelona)This is a very interdisciplinary work package with broad scopes. It is a support, verification, and methods work package, of strategic importance in order to achieve and verify the objectives set in WP1 and WP2. At the same time it is exploratory, aiming at providing new tools and methods in the realization, identification, and characterization of the novel quantum phases and orders that we are seeking with the quantum emulation of frustrated quantum magnetism. Specifically, we are going to address:
1. Common technical challenges and design of novel advanced strategies for decoherence and noise reduction.
2. Development of optimized strategies for the verification of quantum states and quantum operations.
3. Beyond topological entanglement entropy: novel concepts for the investigation and the understanding of the quantum phase diagram in complex quantum many-body systems, implementing the concept of global entanglement patterns.
